OKLAHOMA CITY — House Appropriations and Budget Committee Chairman Ken Miller and former Sen. Owen Laughlin disagree on who is the most qualified person seeking the GOP nomination for state treasurer.
Miller of Edmond and Laughlin of Woodward will be on the primary ballot on July 27.
The winner will face Democrat Stephen E. Covert of Midwest City in the Nov. 2 general election. Current Treasurer Scott Meacham, a Democrat, is not seeking re-election.
Laughlin holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Southern Nazarene University and a law degree from Oklahoma City University.
He has experience in banking, law and small business. He served in the Oklahoma Senate for 12 years.
Miller holds a bachelor's degree in finance and economics from Lipscomb University in Nashville. He holds a master's degree in business administration from Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif., and a doctorate in political economics from the University of Oklahoma... FULL ARTICLE
