$3.7 Million in contracts awarded for road improvements in Bryan County

OKLAHOMA CITY—Three contracts were awarded this month for much needed road improvements in Bryan County, Sen. Josh Brecheen and Rep. Dustin Roberts recently announced.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, the first project involves installing nine miles of cable barriers as well as guardrails along US-69 from the Oklahoma/Texas state line extending north. Brecheen, (R-Coalgate) said a $2 million contract was awarded to Midstate Traffic Control, who was the lowest of four bidders on the job.

The second project will involve right-of-way clearance along SH-78 from one-fourth of a mile north of the US-69 junction, extending north. The $118,700 contract for the project was awarded to Schiralli Construction Corporation out of Wilson, who was the lowest of five bidders.

Finally, workers will be replacing the Newberry Creek bridge located on county road NS-366 just over one mile north of the US-70 junction. A contract worth just over $515,000 was given to Treas Construction, Inc. The Coalgate company was the lowest of five bidders for the job, according to Roberts (R-Durant).

Once construction begins, the projects will all be completed within six months.
