5 construction projects planned for turnpike

OKLAHOMA CITY — Five construction projects will be under way this summer along the Turner Turnpike, the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority was told Wednesday.

The authority is urging motorists to observe construction zone signs and speed limits, Deputy Director Tim Stewart said.

"The quickest a person can travel through a construction zone is by correctly observing and following the speed limits and warning signs," he said.

"Everyone will get there as rapidly and safely as possible. We start encountering problems when someone ignores the posted signs."

The first project will involve creating an interchange on the western end of the turnpike at Luther between Wellston and Oklahoma City, Stewart said.

The interchange is a joint project among the authority, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation and Oklahoma County, he said... FULL ARTICLE
