So much for the state's grand plan to generate $50 million this fiscal year via a nifty high-tech system that nabs motorists who drive without insurance. It's not going to happen. But hey, it's really no big deal anyway.
After all, state Treasurer Scott Meacham said Tuesday, $50 million is chump change in a budget that has $5.5 billion in state funds. And heck, revenue sources ebb and flow all the time, so it's likely that $50 million hit won't hurt a bit because it could very well be made up elsewhere.
