Seven Republican candidates seeking the 5th District U.S. House seat met Friday to debate and stake out conservative positions on issues ranging from immigration to health care reform.
The candidates agreed on most subjects, but their views took different turns when State Rep. Shane Jett argued against deporting all illegal immigrants.
"You can have a simple, kick 'em out solution, but at the end of the day, it's not practical,” Jett said at the Clarion Meridian Convention Center and Hotel in Oklahoma City.
