The chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives' Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure praised workers' progress on redeveloping the Inner Dispersal Loop on Monday, calling it the "most complex project in the nation."
U.S. Rep. James Oberstar, D-Minn., toured the nearly completed west leg of the loop Monday morning. He was joined by members of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, city of Tulsa officials and U.S. Rep. Mary Fallin, R-Okla., among others.
"That is an especially great tribute when you see the complexity," said Oberstar, who toured the loop to get a first-hand view of how Oklahoma was spending its share of stimulus dollars.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation received about $465 million last year from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. So far, the state has obligated or spent more than 90 percent of the money, ODOT reported...
