Pontotoc County — Funds from Chickasaws
Funds to replace Rocky Creek bridge were donated by the Chickasaw Nation. Starns, Wood and Davis said the Chickasaw Nation has provided millions of dollars for road projects for the county as well as the city of Ada.
“The Chickasaws do so much for Pontotoc County,” Davis said. “They are such a valuable asset to county government. They help fund these bridge projects, overlays, oil and chip streets, buy gravel ... many things are done to benefit this county that would not be possible without the Chickasaw Nation. My hat goes off to Governor Bill Anoatubby and the whole road construction staff of the Chickasaw Nation.”
