State Sen. Tom Adelson, D-Tulsa, is asking various Oklahomans to sign a pro-SQ 744 newspaper advertisement he's buying. In the ad, Adelson calls for an end to "special interest handouts” and says passage of the state question in November would "force the Oklahoma Legislature to do its job.” We were tickled by the rejection Adelson received from one businessman in Lawton. "You sir, the collective body of our Legislature, are responsible for approving those 'handouts,'” the man wrote. "You sir, need to take control of and reign (sic) in this excessive funding.” Now there's an idea!
