Most officers don't care for the new patch as copamred to the old one. There were 2 versions, one with a silver outline and lettering as opposed to the gold one. The silver one looked much better as the gold one looks gawdy in comparison. The bridge and city sillouette was nice though. Also the patch was designed by an officer in the department. Not a marketing company for 30k. Although the manufacturing of those new patches was several thousand dollars as well as putting them on the uniforms. Maybe the city could have saved money if the new logo was voluntarily created and submitted via a contest by citizens or employees?
