BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -- Broken Arrow city officials will cut a ribbon Thursday opening the Elm Place extension between Albany and Omaha streets.
Officials say prior to completion of this extension, travelers were redirected through the Battle Creek subdivision.
"This is a perfect example of why bond issues are so important to municipalities," said Mayor Mike Lester. "This road project was vital to the transportation system in this area."
Lester says in order to better address the traffic flow that was generated from the growth and development of Battle Creek, officials decided a new arterial road should route traffic around the eastern side of the subdivision.
Final cost of the project was $1,844,902.87.
