— The US-81 Bypass of Chickasha is expected to alleviate the bottleneck of traffic, but some Chickasha citizens worry that business will stop pouring in.
The proposed project is to construct a 4-lane divided western bypass in Chickasha from south of SH-19, north to US-62 as recommended in a corridor study completed by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) in 2007.
The need for the bypass was recognized by the ODOT in the 1960s, but it wasn't until 1999 that the City of Chickasha was receptive to it, Bob Rose, ODOT Division Engineer, said... FULL ARTICLE
