City of Sand Springs seeks funding for proposed park road trail

SAND SPRINGS, OKLAHOMA
-- The Sand Springs City Council has approved submitting an application for a Transportation Enhancement Program grant from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation to build a 10-foot wide walking and bicycle trail on the north side of Park Road between downtown Sand Springs and 81st W Avenue.

The 1.01-mile long trail would connect sidewalk improvements in the downtown area at Broadway and Fourth Street with the existing Sand Springs Lake Trail and the KATY Trail.

"This connection will provide a vital link in our city's trail system and will provide a safe separation for pedestrians and bicyclists from the vehicular traffic along Park Road," said Vernon Smith with the City's Public Works Department... FULL ARTICLE
