Closures, detours begin on I-244 over Arkansas River

Tonight at seven the replacement of the Arkansas River bridge on I-244 southwest of downtown Tulsa will start to affect you.

The release from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation says two ramps will be closed at the southwest corner of the Inner Dispersal Loop, and a detour will be in place around the IDL from 7 p.m. Friday until 2013: Westbound US-64/SH-51 off-ramp to eastbound I-244/westbound US-64/SH-51 (south leg IDL to west leg IDL) and Southbound US-75/westbound US-64/SH-51 off-ramp to westbound I-244/southbound US-75.

In other words you will not be able to use the south leg of the IDL to get from the Broken Arrow Expressway to Highway 75, I-244 or the Sand Springs Expressway without going around downtown Tulsa to the north... FULL ARTICLE
