TAHLEQUAH — Cherokee County commissioners adopted a series of resolutions Monday aimed at road projects.
The board approved a resolution for the County Improvements to Roads and Bridges program. District 1 Commissioner Doug Hubbard said the resolution is basically a priority list for projects that the county will need financial help in completing.
He said the projects on the list are at Teresita, Killabrew Road and Welling. Hubbard said the Combs Bridge project was also on the list and District 3 Commissioner Mike Ballard said the Caney Creek Bridge was also on the list at one time.
Another resolution approved by the commissioners will show their opposition to the utilization of Indian Reservation Roads funding restrictions to tribal and BIA owned lands. Ballard explained the restrictions would allow federal highway money to only be spent on reservations and would keep Cherokee Nation and other Oklahoma tribes from having any of the money...
