CHICKASHA - Bids to provide fence at the fairgrounds were opened Monday morning at the regular meeting of the Grady County Commissioners.
Two companies submitted bids, with local company Craddock Fence offering the winning, low bid of $144,715. Marshall Fence of Moore submitted a bid of $161,850.
District 1 Commissioner Windle Hardy said the fencing, which would surround the grounds except for the north parking lot, will be for security purposes.
He said there have been cases in the past where livestock have gotten loose and onto the highway.
Although no injuries have resulted from the incidents, Hardy said the Oklahoma Department of Transportation has also inquired about the possibility of fencing to keep the animals off the road... FULL ARTICLE
