Muskogee Phoenix
— Three aging, rusty bridges are Muskogee County’s contenders for state-funded road work.
At their regular board meeting Tuesday, County Commissioners agreed to submit three bridge projects to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation for its County Improvement for Roads and Bridges (CIRB) program. Each year, counties list bridges most in need of repair to the state. The state reviews the requests before deciding which projects to fund.
Commissioners submitted one bridge in each district:
• District 1 — Hancock Road, just west of Three Mile Road east of Muskogee.
• District 2 — North-South Road 436 over Southfork Creek between Porum and Warner.
• District 3 — Taft Road over Cane Creek, about three miles west of Taft.
