State Senator Jim Halligan, State Representative Lee Denney, Secretary of Transportation Gary Ridley and Perkins Mayor Bob Johnson along with representatives of the City of Perkins, Perkins Chamber of Commerce and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s Div. 4 office in Perry commemorated the completion of a nearly $10 million project to reconstruct and improve safety on SH-33 west of Perkins with a ceremonial ribbon cutting Nov. 18.
The seven-mile project reconstructed SH-33 from east of the Cimarron River Bridge to two miles west of Perkins and included reconstructing the roadway next to the current alignment, adding shoulders and removing the hills and curves, greatly improving safety and sight distance for motorists. The project completion also marks a major milestone in the series of SH-33 corridor projects to reconstruct SH- 33, add shoulders and improve safety on the corridor between Guthrie and Perkins...
