TULSA, Oklahoma -- Construction on a multi-modal bridge that will carry I-244 traffic across the Arkansas River is about to begin.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation will hold a groundbreaking ceremony Friday, April 15, 2011 at the corner of Southwest Boulevard and Riverside Drive.
The $78 million project will incorporate highway lanes on the top side, with two dedicated future rail lines and an area for bicycle and pedestrian traffic underneath.
A $50 million federal grant, awarded in 2009, will help pay for the project.
