Construction on U.S. 62 continues with additional projects near Fort Gibson

MUSKOGEE – Construction cones are popping up along the Willey Road intersection in anticipation of the next phase of a $5.2 million project that is meant to address collision issues at three Fort Gibson intersections.

Oklahoma Department of Transportation officials say work is nearly complete on the J-turn intersection at Two Mile Road, with final paving and additional signage being wrapped up, said Cody Boyd, ODOT spokesman.

Next up is a project to "square up" the Willey Road and U.S. 62 intersection to make visibility better for drivers entering U.S. 62.

Dirt work began there last week, and Willey Road remains open for drivers -- but drivers should be prepared to find it narrowed or closed in the near future, Boyd said... FULL ARTICLE
