Afterward, Cornett told The Oklahoman the president heard what he said but didn't respond. Let's hope Obama got the message.
While most Americans would agree addressing the nation's crumbling infrastructure is a pressing need, we doubt many think a Washington-based, one-size-fits-all approach is the way to do it. Recent history, in the form of last year's $800 billion-plus stimulus certainly, is no comfort.
