Two bridges in Sequoyah County, and another close by, are on Gov. Mary Fallin’s plan to replace or rehabilitate all of Oklahoma’s 706 deficient bridges by 2019.
Fallin announced the plan on Monday.
David Meuser, Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) spokesman, said the two bridges in the county to be replaced by 2019 are the U.S. Highway 64 bridge near Moffett, at a cost of $6.75 million, and the overpass bridge on Interstate 40 over old U.S. Highway 64 (Delaware Avenue) - $9.6 million. A close-by bridge on the list is on State Highway 10, near Braggs in Muskogee County over Little Green Leaf Creek, at a cost of $8 million.
“The estimated cost does not include the cost of any right-of-way acquisition or moving utilities,” Meuser said.
Meuser explained that ODOT is responsible for building and maintaining all the highways in the state, except the turnpikes, which are funded by tolls... FULL ARTICLE
