County road, bridge projects moving forward

Some Pittsburg County road and bridge projects are moving forward — even though it may be 2020 when the construction on some projects gets underway.

County commissioners awarded a bid to for the Cabiness Road Bridge Widening Project, awarding a $43,000 bid to Action Construction and Concrete Restoration of Quinlan, Texas to complete a portion of the work in the District 3 project. The only other bid, from the Concrete Coring Company, of Newcastle, came in at $70,000.

District 3 Commissioner Ross Selman said the bridge-widening project is part of an overall project on Cabiness Road, beginning at U.S. Highway 270 and extending to the intersection at Lone Grove Church. Work is also expected on the bridge over Wild Horse Creek, he said... FULL ARTICLE
