I-44 widening projects in Riverside Dr./Peoria Ave. corridor – closures tonight:
Eastbound frontage road traffic is shifted to new lanes between Riverside Dr. to near Utica Avenue; eastbound I-44 on/off ramps at Peoria Ave. are also shifted to new locations; use caution as traffic adjusts to this new route.
The following closures are scheduled:
• The left lane of east and westbound I-44 between the US-75 junction and Peoria Ave. from 7 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday, and from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday.
Other closures until further notice include:
• North and southbound Peoria Ave. is narrowed to one lane in each direction. Plan for extra travel time in this area.
• All lanes of Detroit Ave., Troost Ave., Trenton Ave. St. Louis Ave. and Wheeling Ave. are closed at East Skelly Dr. (south of I-44).
