Oklahoma had a much-improved Christmas season based on sales tax collections, but the receipts still are below the amount taken in two years ago before the recession struck the state, according to figures released Tuesday.
State Treasurer Ken Miller said a slow and steady recovery from the recession appears to be continuing for Oklahoma's economy.
Tax revenue reports for December show general fund collections are $454.5 million, he said. That is $52.1 million, or 13 percent, above last year and $18.9 million, or 4.3 percent, above the estimate.
