OKLAHOMA CITY - The heat is doing a number on Oklahoma roadways. Officials with the Oklahoma Department Of Transportation say when concrete heats & expands, it has nowhere to go but UP. ODOT recently repaired a giant buckle on Highway 81 in Grady County and another on Lincoln Blvd near the State Capitol.
State officials say Lincoln is among several trouble spots. Route 66 in Bethany and I-40 between Morgan & Sarah are also on ODOT's watch list because of the age and lack of steel reinforcement in the concrete.
According to ODOT Spokesperson, Terry Angier, "Motorists need to be careful. Act like it's a bump at an apartment complex and try to maneuver over them. Don't go the speed limit. It can't handle it... FULL ARTICLE
