Drivers using road full of bumps, potholes as detour

TULSA COUNTY -  The Highway 11 Hominy Creek Bridge project is causing headaches for a lot of Tulsa County drivers who live in or travel through the Skiatook and Perry areas.

Many are taking detours on 116th St. N. and Peoria Ave. and are dealing with a road peppered with potholes, gravel and dirt. 

“There are all sorts of hazards,” one driver said. “People are losing things off their vehicles. I’ve seen a lot of firewood on this road.”

Kenna Mitchell with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation understands the issues. She recommends people use Highways 20 and 75 to avoid roads not approved as official detour roads.
