EDMOND — Eight buses bought with federal stimulus money have arrived and will be on the streets of Edmond as soon as paperwork can be completed and logos are in place.
Six smaller buses have been inspected and signage installed. The two larger buses, which make trips to Oklahoma City and back to Edmond, arrived on Thursday.
Shannon Entz, community development manager, said she hopes that the buses will be in service in seven to 10 days.
The holdup is an agreement with Central Oklahoma Transportation and Parking Authority, the organization that directly received the Federal Transit Administration funds for the buses. The $600,000 in federal money was then awarded by the authority to Edmond to purchase the buses. But the authority still needs a contract with Edmond that will assure the city meets the federal requirements attached to the money... FULL ARTICLE
