Fallin reappoints Overland to Transportation Commission

SHAWNEE, Okla. — Gov. Mary Fallin has reappointed Danny Overland to represent District 3 on the Oklahoma Transportation Commission.

“Maintaining and continuing to improve and expand our transportation infrastructure is extremely important to the health of our economy and our goal of creating more and better jobs in Oklahoma,” Fallin said. “Each one of these individuals has demonstrated competence and leadership, and I know they’ll serve their state well on the Transportation Commission.”

Overland has served on the Commission for the last eight years, and was first appointed under former Gov. Brad Henry.

“We are still concerned with a lot of things throughout the district,” Overland said. “The interstate east of Shawnee is horrible. Highway 9 from Tecumseh to Seminole is a dangerous road that needs to be addressed. There are plenty of problems and never enough money but it is my responsibility to be a steward of state funds.”
