OKLAHOMA CITY - Gov. Mary Fallin will have about $6.5 billion to build her budget on, the state finance director said Monday.
The Equalization Board will meet Tuesday to discuss how much money the state will have to spend in fiscal year 2013. It will meet again in February to update that figure.
The $6.5 billion is an increase of $114.6 million or 1.8 percent more than the Legislature appropriated in fiscal year 2012. But Fallin and legislative leaders are facing a shortfall of about $150 million because of the use of one-time funds to plug holes in the fiscal year 2012 budget, said Office of State Finance Director Preston Doerflinger.
"I certainly think that February's numbers will be better," he said.
