OKLAHOMA CITY - The state Council of Bond Oversight gave approval Thursday for the financing for a rehabilitation project along Interstate 244 east of downtown.
The council gave the Oklahoma Department of Transportation permission to sell $71 million in bonds for four projects, including the Tulsa project, which is expected to cost about $37 million.
All of the projects are in the agency's eight-year plan.
The east and west lanes of Interstate 244 from between Sheridan Road and Memorial Drive east to the interchange of Interstate 44 will be reconstructed.
"We are not adding any capacity or lanes," said Mike Patterson, Oklahoma Department of Transportation deputy director and chief financial officer.
"We are reconstructing the pavement. If you have driven over the road recently, it is pretty rough."
The project is about 4.3 miles and is expected to begin after Jan. 1, Patterson said... FULL ARTICLE
