Five construction projects planned for Oklahoma's Turner Turnpike

Turner Turnpike projects will start after the July 4 holiday. Two pavement projects will be done at night to minimize delays for motorists.

Just in time for summer driving, five construction projects will be taking place on the Turner Turnpike between Oklahoma City and Tulsa. The projects total about $27.6 million.

Most of the projects will start after the July 4 holiday weekend, said Tim Stewart, assistant director of the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority.

To help minimize delays to motorists, work on two of the projects, one on each side of the turnpike, will be done at night. It's the first time night work will be done on the Turner Turnpike, Stewart said.
