Oklahoma Republican incumbents and Democrat Dan Boren gain seniority and clout in Congress

WASHINGTON — By Wednesday morning, U.S. Rep. Dan Boren already was getting overtures from Republicans to switch sides.
Boren, the only Democrat in Oklahoma's congressional delegation, votes often with Republicans — he opposed health care reform and cap-and-trade legislation — but he's not planning to jump ship.
"I've never thought of changing parties," said Boren, of Muskogee. "I think it's important for Oklahoma to have more than one party representing it in Washington."
The Republican tidal wave that swept the U.S. House on Tuesday may actually benefit Boren. The loss of more than 60 Democratic seats elevated his seniority and could put him in line to be the top Democrat on a subcommittee, maybe even the Energy Subcommittee of the Natural Resources Committee...
