NOWATA, Okla. - Where are the workers?
That's what residents in the Nowata area are asking; they want to know how much longer the Highway 169 road project is going to take.
Work started this summer and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation says the project will make it a much smoother ride.
"The highway up there was having some problems with the pavement. We're coming in and milling off or removing the top two inches and we're putting back about nine inches of pavement back up there," ODOT Engineer Randle White said.
Drivers are also worried about their safety.
"It's very narrow, there's a lot of traffic on it, lots of trucks," Nowata resident John Ridenhour said.
