Highway 169 has reopened after several accidents forced its closure Thursday morning.

The Tulsa Police Department closed both north and southbound lanes of Highway 169 from 11th Street all the way south to 91st Street at around 9:30 a.m. after reports of several collisions from extremely slick and hazardous conditions.

Officials say the roadway was reopened after the Oklahoma Department of Transportation responded to access and treat the highway. They warn motorists to stay well back from the ODOT vehicles and allow them to do their jobs.

Air temperatures in Tulsa dropped to minus-11 degrees Thursday morning, making for very dangerous conditions with not only snow but also black ice.
