New two-lane bridge to replace landmark

An historic steel-truss bridge is up for grabs and its removal will make way for a new bridge.
The 1913 Parker through truss bridge is being offered by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) and McClain County District Two.
These two entities will donate the bridge to any private or public party willing and able to relocate and maintain the structure at another site.
The bridge spans Walnut Creek west of Washington on Western Avenue. It is 152-feet long and is estimated to weigh 200 tons.
It is eligible for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places.
The obsolete bridge must be replaced by a modern two-lane bridge.
