Motorists are being delayed by a large hole that opened up about 8 a.m. on the Interstate 40 crosstown bridge, said Brenda Perry, Oklahoma Department of Transportation spokeswoman.
The hole in the deteriorating roadway, which was built in the mid-1960s, is between Western Avenue and Classen Boulevard. It is a foot wide and 6 feet long in the center lane. One lane is open to westbound traffic.
Westbound I-40 drivers should expect heavy congestion through the afternoon and avoid the area if possible, Perry said. Crews are now making repairs... FULL ARTICLE
