Motorists should be prepared for road closures and detours this weekend as work continues on the Interstate 44 widening project in the Riverside Drive and Peoria Avenue area.
All lanes of Riverside and the pedestrian trail are slated to be closed at the I-44 junction from 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday, according to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
Traffic will be detoured to Peoria from 41st Street and from 61st Street.
Also, the right lane of eastbound I-44 will be closed between the Arkansas River Bridge and Peoria from 7 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Saturday.
ODOT says the work is "weather permitting," and forecasters are predicting a significant chance of rain this weekend... FULL ARTICLE
