TULSA, Ok. - The I-44 widening project means more temporary lanes for eastbound and westbound traffic at Harvard. Several on and off ramps are closed through that stretch of I-44. Matt Casillas with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation told our partners at the News On Six that this is "a long-term project here that's going to take another year to complete, so there's going to be some traffic switches and there's going to be some closures involved." He says there have been some rainy days and some short term delays I-44 westbound is closed at 41st Street and at Yale. The I-44 eastbound on ramp is closed at Harvard, the on and off ramps are closed at Yale and the off ramp is closed at 41st Street. Casillas says this really marks the beginning of highway construction. We are actually removing old lanes and preparing to replace them.
