A widening project means changes for the I-44 bridge over the Arkansas River.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is shifting traffic to one lane on the bridge during parts of the construction project.
Both eastbound lanes of the I-44 bridge are closed, the westbound lanes will carry traffic both ways until the widening project is complete.
Construction is also closing the east bound ramp off of I-44 onto Lewis. Drivers can use the Peoria or Harvard exits as another option.
ODOT is urging drivers to allow more travel time on I-44 or finding alternative routes.
