A yearlong project to widen Interstate 44 from east of Yale Avenue to near 41st Street is scheduled to start Monday, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation said.
The $11 million project will widen the highway from four lanes to six and replace the bridges over Darlington Avenue, according to a news release.
It is expected to take a year to complete, with incentives for contractors to expedite the project.
During the first phase of construction, Darlington Avenue will be closed under I-44, and drivers can expect possible delays on both eastbound and westbound I-44, officials said...
