OKLAHOMA CITY -- Two eastbound lanes on Interstate 44 closed Monday morning due to an immediate repair on the roadway.
The lanes closed about 5:45 a.m.
The two inside lanes on I-44 eastbound are between the Classen off-ramp and the Northwest Expressway on-ramp.
State troopers said an expansion joint is in need of repair.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation said the closure is expected to last at least until noon today and believe the repairs to be more age-related rather than a direct result of heat.
