DICKSON, OK - Back in July, we told you about a dangerous stretch of highway in Carter County that caught the attention of the Oklahoma Director of Transportation. Now ODOT has unveiled its plans to not only improve that highway, but also provide additional safety features.
Highway 199 runs right in front of Dickson Public Schools, and superintendent Sherry Howe says she and others have been trying for years to get something done to make the highway safer, not only for students but for everyone that passes through.
Dickson Public Schools Superintendent Sherry Howe says over the past 15 years she's seen several deadly accidents happen on the stretch of highway that runs in front of her schools and says something had to be done.
