About 3 a.m. in the westbound lanes on a bridge over U.S. 177, the expansion joints caused damages and forced troopers to close lanes, a highway patrol dispatcher said.
One lane of westbound I-40 remained closed at 8:45 a.m. and all lanes of northbound U.S. 177 are closed due to the expansion joint problem on the bridge above.
