Kickapoo Spur bridge on U.S. 177 to get facelift

This week, the Oklahoma Transportation Commission approved a couple projects in Pottawatomie County — rehabilitation of a bridge on 177 at Kickapoo Spur and the resurfacing of SH 9.

The Commission voted to award $1.86 million to reconstruct the US-270 — also known as US-177 —bridge over the west end of Kickapoo Spur.

Brenda Perry, media and public relations officer for ODOT, said though a specific date has yet to be set for the bridge just south of Shawnee Regional Airport, work is likely to start sometime around February.

The rehab process, once work begins, is estimated to take just more than eight months.
