Federal stimulus money to the tune of more than $500,000 is to be used in a pedestrian improvements project in the town of Kiowa on U.S. Highway 69, in line with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
A contract for more than $538,000 was announced as the result of a meeting of the Oklahoma Transportation Commission for the project, which is to involve more than half a mile of the highway in Kiowa, starting from 8th Street and extending north in the town, according to information from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
Rudy Construction Co. of Oklahoma City is the contractor that was awarded the contract for the project, which is expected to be complete approximately four months from the date work begins.
The contractor has a flexible start date, according to the state agency, and can start anytime between now and April 12...
