Krebs, Wilburton awarded ODOT grants for sidewalks

Krebs and Wilburton will receive nearly $400,000 in total funding to complete transportation projects.

The Oklahoma Transportation Commission on Monday approved $7.5 million for 21 local projects as part of the Transportation Alternatives Program. Wilburton will receive $292,800 and Krebs will receive $74,400 from the program, according to documents prepared for the commission’s meeting.

Wilburton will use the funds to continue sidewalk upgrades throughout the city — this time improving routes to Wilburton Public Schools at Blair Street, Northwest Second Street and Northeast Fourth Street. The Wilburton project will connect to Phase I of the sidewalk and trail plan, while upgrading to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act... FULL ARTICLE
