The Edmond state senator says working with businesses will be a main focus when he becomes lieutenant governor next year. The Republican on Jan. 10 will be sworn into the statewide office that his father unsuccessfully sought nearly 30 years ago.

Playing a role in recruiting jobs and working with existing businesses will be a key priority for Todd Lamb, who is preparing for the post that eluded his father nearly 30 years ago.
Lamb, a Republican state senator from Edmond, said he hopes to work closely with Gov.-elect Mary Fallin. The Republican has named Lamb to be her small business advocate in her Cabinet.
In Oklahoma, the governor and lieutenant governor candidates run separately for the post. But Lamb said he hopes to work closely with Fallin, whom he worked with for two years in the Capitol when he was a senator and she was lieutenant governor before she ran successfully for Congress.
