OKLAHOMA CITY
(AP) - An Oklahoma City lawmaker will host a legislative study next week on the expansion of passenger rail service in Oklahoma.

State Rep. Richard Morrissette's study will include testimony from Kansas state Sen. Dick Kelsey and other lawmakers and transportation officials from Texas and Kansas. The meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the state Capitol.

Oklahoma's only passenger rail train currently runs daily from Oklahoma City to Fort Worth. Morrissette says he wants to review plans for expanding passenger rail to Kansas City.

Morrissette said such an expansion would be a boon for tourism in Oklahoma, especially for small towns along the rail corridor.
