Businesses and property owners along South Main Street, along with the general public, will have an opportunity on Tuesday, Feb. 22, to receive information and provide input into plans to widen and extend the roadway south of the Sand Springs Expressway.

Sand Springs city officials, in cooperation with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) are proposing to improve and extend Main Street from the expressway south and west to an intersection with Highway 97 at the north end of the Arkansas River bridge. A frontage road is also proposed along the south side of expressway from Main Street east to the Lincoln Avenue entrance ramp.

“The purpose of the project is to improve accessibility to the area, provide additional capacity and provide better conductivity to this area of Sand Springs,” said a letter recently sent to nearby businesses and property owners.

The public meeting will be held Tuesday, Feb. 22, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Case Community Center, 1050 W. Wekiwa Rd. The meeting will be held “open house” style where the public can come and go, view exhibits and receive information about the project... FULL ARTICLE
