Here’s a road that has changed many times through the years, from a dirt pathway to a major highway. And there’s more ahead.
Regarding the Broadway Extension widening project, do you know why ODOT (or the responsible planning entity) would not have first completed the bottleneck at the I-44 & Broadway interchange? With enhancements on both sides of this, it seems that drivers simply rush to the bottleneck and create an elevated opportunity for accidents at the interchange. I have previously been told that this part of the project would not be completed until 2017, but lately I have heard that there is currently no funding for the project, which may explain why we have seen no activity for some time. It seems that this was not a logical approach for public safety.
